CHALLENGE:  Reimagine some of the iconic scenes of Tom and Jerry to bring back childhood memories


BEHIND THE STORY

When I was only 2 years old I had a heavy fever that almost killed me. My dad brought me a plush toy mouse named Jerry and played me Tom and Jerry cartoons. Every day in the clinic  was better, because I knew that Jerry would always stand by me and gave me courage.

Now Jerry has been my friend for 17 years—the longest friendship I’ve every had the privilege to have. When I was assigned a project to design a toy, the first idea that came to mind was to design a plane that could help him to beat Tom effectively. Therefore, here comes Jerry’s Bomber.

INSPIRATION




The story is basically about one of their daily fights. After being chased by Tom, Jerry got a cannon and a paper plane “bomber” to beat Tom. Then one thought strikes through his mind: what if I combined both the artillery and the plane together?



The facial studies were to get a better perspective and to present a clever yet naughty Jerry on the plane.
